Learning about and working with companies who are charting new paths in science and technology is a source of endless delight. However, those aren’t the only places where innovation happens.
Overlooked are the mom-and-pops who are doing their work in new ways. They’re innovators. Oftentimes, so are the entrepreneurs who take it upon themselves to finally solve the problem everyone in their industry has been complaining about. So, too, are the founders who are more focused on community impact than economic impact as they work to create change through creative applications of existing technology.
Innovators come in all sorts. This month, Kassy Alia, founder and CEO of Serve & Connect, which is developing a community policing app, talks about an atypical product development process that directly reflects the values of the organization as well as the product’s intended outcomes. Meanwhile on the Hello Chaos™ podcast, you’ll hear about developing apps, innovating underwear, perfect partnerships, solid CEOs, and the difficulty of defining entrepreneurship.
I bet a lot of you know something about that already.
Cheers,
Jennifer
