Things are bubbling, brewing and baking in Columbia. This isn’t news, just a fact. It’s a constant. So, this month we’re focusing on incubation and acceleration. There are so many ways to do this founder thing. So many places where, once your big idea is born, it can be fed and nurtured.
New businesses are being incubated in corners of kitchens and bedrooms, on nights, weekends, and early mornings. A few lucky intra-preneurs are taking the leap while at work, and have their bosses’ blessings to try something new.
Then, they’re out into the world. Some wise ones are finding a group of equally ambitious founders as part of an accelerator where they learn (or unlearn) some fundamentals about their businesses. Maybe they find a location with the infrastructure — office space, lab space, production studio, manufacturing equipment— to keep the ball rolling uphill.
It’s all happening.
I hope the details in this month’s featured resources spark an idea that helps you solve your most annoying problem, and make your next important move. I hope you’re inspired by the folks around you who are fired up and making it happen. I definitely am.
